William Hoffpauir Jr.

April 11, 2000 — February 19, 2022

MAMOU-William Hoffpauir, 21, died on February 19, 2022, from his battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. William fought his battle with such courage and strength. On behalf of William, we all would like to thank Lakeview Regional Medical Center for all they did for him. It is because of them that he was able to fight for so long. Over the past three months, the Lakeview staff became what he called his “Lakeview family.” They were always there for both him and the rest of the family, all the way to his last day.

William was a graduate of Mamou High School and at the time of his diagnosis was enrolled at SOWELA Technical Community College at Oakdale to pursue a career as an electrician. Welding was something William always thoroughly enjoyed, and when he was not busy, he was always working on something. Once diagnosed, he decided once he beat his battle, he was going back to SOWELA, but this time he was following his dreams and going to pursue his welding certificate. In his free time, he enjoyed life spent outdoors, fishing and hunting, but especially, watching over his ducks. One might say his idea of a perfect day would be a day spent by the pond with his family.

He was one special young man. He loved and cared, fiercely, for all in his life. He was always helping people and his favorite thing to do during the holidays was to gather with the family and listen to stories. He loved his sisters and loved to tease them too. He was always so happy to be surrounded by his nephew and niece, spoiling them in only a way an uncle could. The joy he had in his heart radiated on his face when seeing and hearing his family, even until his last day. We are forever thankful for all the joy and laughter he brought to our lives.

William is the adored son of Brandon and Anna, cherished brother of Sara and Rebecca, and the loving uncle known as "Bubba" to Jaxon Cooper and Ava Grace. Maternal grandparents are Ralph and Linda Daigle of Ville Platte. Paternal grandparents are Bill and Debbie Hoffpauir of Mamou. He is also loved by his aunts and uncles: Joseph Daigle, Jeret Daigle, Clarissa Daigle, Garrett (Kim) Hoffpauir, and Kayla (Kasey) Reed.

A Celebration of life will be planed at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Hoffpauir family in order to defray funeral expenses.
