PINE PRAIRIE – Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, for Samuel Gayle Miller, 69, who passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021.
Samuel Gayle Miller was born on January 8, 1952, in Merryville, LA to Luther and Ruby Alston Miller. He was a 1972 graduate of Pine Prairie High School. He worked offshore for many years as a crane operator for Hercules Offshore. Samuel had a great since of humor and loved to joke around and make people smile. He enjoyed spending time camping, hunting, and having a drink or two with his friends. He was always happy and loved making people laugh. He touched the lives of many. His family and friends will miss him dearly.
He is survived by his daughter, Catina Miller Deshotel and companion, Shannon Richard of Pine Prairie; son, Derick D. Miller of Oakdale; brother, Ralph Dykman and wife, Beaulah of DeRidder; sister, Addie Ortiz of Rosepine; grandchildren, Cade Sittig wife Emily, Tyler Gautreaux, Catrina Richardson and husband, Kyle, Shane Dickens, Christina Dickens, Malena Miller, Huey Woods, and Scott Miller; 12 great-grandchildren; and girlfriend, Renee Fontenot.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 30 years, Clarice Deville Miller; parents, Luther and Ruby Miller; son, David Scott Miller; sister, Helen Stracener; and best friend, Carol Berzas.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, from 9:00 AM until time of service.
