Robert Lee “Bobby” Dougia was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on October 11, 1938, to Herbert and Eza Mary Rozas Dougia. Bobby was a lifelong educator. He graduated from USL with a bachelor’s degree and furthered his education by obtaining a master’s degree from LSU. He had the honor of being the first principal at Evangeline Academy. He always had a smile on his face and would greet everyone with a warm handshake. He was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His family was his greatest pride and joy. He instilled the value of prayer in his children and grandchildren and when life got rough, he would always say “Chin up now”. Bobby enjoyed playing tennis and spending time outside birdwatching and feeding his birds. One of his favorite past times was dancing to Cajun Music with the love his life Lois. His family and friends will miss him dearly but rejoice in knowing he is celebrated in heaven.
