MAMOU – Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou on Monday, August 24, 2020 for Judy Ann Fontenot, 64, who passed away on Friday, August 21, 2020 in Alexandria, LA.
Father Bala Rayapati will be celebrant of the Mass and will conduct funeral services.
Burial will take place in Reed Cemetery.
Judy Ann Fontenot was born on June 6, 1956 in Mamou, LA to Octair and Vergie Granger Vidrine. She was a beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. Judy enjoyed cooking and playing cards. Her greatest joy, though, was that of spending time with and caring for her grandchildren. Her family and friends will miss her dearly.
She is survived by her daughter, Hannah Walker of Mamou; six grandchildren, Chelsea Manuel and wife, Victoria Fontenot of Tate Cove, Krystal Manuel of Jennings, Bryce Manuel and wife, Makayla of Pine Prairie, Rhiannon Walker of Pine Prairie, Brian Walker of Tate Cove, and Ronnie Jenkins of Tate Cove; six great grandchildren, Ayla Marcantel, Cloud Marcantel, Benji Courville, Ryker Courville, DJ Courville and Emberlyn Manuel; two sisters, Barbara Manuel and husband, Charlie of Mamou and Ruby Deville and husband Bobby of Vidrine.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward Fontenot; one daughter, Katina Fontenot; one granddaughter, Cloe' Bamburg; two sisters, Beulah Fontenot and Clara Belle Fontenot.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Mamou on Sunday, August 23, 2020 from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Chuck Ortego at 4:00 PM Sunday. Visitation will resume on Monday, August 24, 2020 from 8:00 AM until time of service.
