MAMOU – Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice on Monday, September 20, 2021, for Jimmy Dale Menier, 74, who passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021.
Burial will take place in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Jimmy Dale Menier was born on December 1, 1946, in Mamou, LA to Baniel and Priscilla Landreneau Menier. He was the owner and operator of Menier’s Body Shop in Mamou for 44 years. Jimmy enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting. He loved spending time with family and friends, especially going fishing in Toledo Bend with his grandchildren. His greatest joy in his life was his family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His family and friends will miss him dearly.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Comeaux; son, Todd Blakely Menier and wife, Brandi of Eunice; two daughters, Kitty Howard of Cecilia and Leslie Fontenot and husband, Guy of Eunice; six grandchildren, Blake Menier, Alex Menier, Skeet Fontenot, Lukas Howard, Lauren Dubroc, and Eric Fontenot; step-son, Barry Comeaux and wife, Jamie of Port Barre; two step-daughters, Shantia Lamana and husband, Jason and Franceen Vidrine of Port Barre; six step-grandchildren, Lindsey Thomasee, Garrett Lamana, Cassie Lamana, Kate Comeaux, Ali Comeaux, and Vivienne Comeaux; and seven great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Baniel and Priscilla Landreneau Menier; sister, Gloria Orr; and niece, Lisa Boutte.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Sunday, September 19, 2021, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou from 11:00 AM until 9:00 PM. A rosary will be prayed in his honor by Deacon Gary Gaudin on Sunday evening at 5:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Monday, September 20, 2021, from 9:00 AM until time of service.
