MAMOU – A Homegoing Celebration will be held at 2:00 PM at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Mamou on Saturday, September 19, 2020, for Jamie Bellard, 48, who passed away on Monday, September 14, 2020 in Mamou, LA.

Reverend Mack Guillory will conduct services.

Burial will take place in Bieber Cemetery.

On September 14, 2020, as the morning approached, God and God alone drew back the curtain and brought to a close the end of a day for Jamie Bellard as he was called home.

Jamie Bellard was born on November 8, 1971 to the late Wallace Bellard, Sr. and Theresa S. Thomas in Lafayette, LA.  He accepted Christ and was baptized at Word of Faith Full Gospel Church under the leadership of Archbishop Allen Celestine, Jr.. When he left his church, he continued to stay close to the Lord.  Later in his life he joined St. Luke Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Mack Guillory until the time of his passing.

Jamie Bellard worked offshore for 2 years.  He also worked as a wrecker driver for American Auto Salvage and he did mechanic work for years.  Jamie also loved fishing and watching LSU and New Orleans Saints games.  He also started pop-a-lock business.  He was a humble, caring, and loving person. Jamie loved helping others and reading his bible.

Jamie leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Theresa S. Thomas of Mamou, his wife Lisa Bellard of Mamou; two stepchildren that he raised as his own, Brandon Fontenot and Melanie Champagne; one grandson, Max Champagne; five sisters, Carla M. Bellard, Alberta Jack, Fredia Wilson (Edwin), Jaqueline Jack all of Mamou, and Jessilyn Semien (Harold) of Vinton, LA; two brothers, Christopher Bellard of Mamou and Pastor Wallace Bellard, Jr. (Salinda) of Oberlin; two godchildren, Brian K. Bellard and Zadden Gaspard; five brother in laws, four sister in laws, godmother, Berline Dicks; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.

Jamie was preceded in death by his father, Wallace Bellard, Sr., three sisters, Brenda Gauthier, Marla Semien, and Juanita B. Freeman, and his brother, Cedric Bellard.

Serving as Pallbearers are Kendrick R. Freeman, Christopher Bellard, Brian K. Bellard, Corey Boutte, Nathan Champagne, and Lucas Laverne.

Honary Pallbears are Stacy Joseph, Quincey Jack, Anthony Lavergne,  Brandon Fontenot, Derrick Bellard, Wallace Bellard, III, and Zadden Gaspard.
