VIDRINE - Funeral services will be held at a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou, Louisiana on Friday, October 15, 2021, for James Roland Guillory, 84, who passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.
Father Bala Rayapati, associate pastor of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the Mass and will conduct funeral services.
Burial will follow in Platin Cemetery.
James Roland Guillory was born on September 23, 1937, in Pine Prairie, LA to Juda and Edna Granger Guillory. He enjoyed listening to music, playing the guitar, and singing. He loved traveling, hunting, fishing, and spending time in the woods camping. He will be missed greatly by those that knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rosa D. Guillory; two daughters, Verona Deville and husband, Steve of Springfield, IL, and Marella Fontenot of Ville Platte; nine grandchildren, Dawn Wietfeldt and husband, Joel, Zack Deville and wife, Brigette, Brad Fontenot and wife, Andre, Derek Fontenot and wife, Blaire, Caleb Fontenot, Austin Fontenot, Heather Dupre and husband, Bevan, Wesley Fontenot and wife, Victoria, and Alyson Fontenot; and twelve great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Valarie Fontenot; and two sisters, Mildred Ardoin and Nell Brignac.
The family requests that a visitation be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou on Friday, October 15, 2021, beginning at 9:00 AM until time of service. A rosary, led by Deacon Chuck Ortego, will be prayed on Friday at 12:30 PM.
