MAMOU – Funeral services will be held at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou on Monday, December 13, 2021, for Gertrude Myrl Pevoto Robinson, 81, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 9, 2021, in Ville Platte
Father Billy Massie will be celebrant of the Mass.
Gertrude Myrl Pevoto Robinson was born on December 16, 1939, in Johnson Bayou, LA to Olizeam Eldaw and Gertie Trahan Pevoto. She was a hard worker and worked as an administrative assistant in the oil and gas industry. Gertrude’s greatest joy was that of spending time with and caring for those she loved. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Charles "Buddy" Robinson; son, James “Rowdy" Robinson, and wife, Ruby of Las Vegas, NM; two daughters, Debbie Toman and husband, Rick of Hockley, Texas and Diane Fontenot and Donovan of Ville Platte; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Elaine Heape of Sulphur and Faye Barton and husband, Wes, of Sulphur.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Olizeam Eldaw and Gertie Trahan Pevoto.
At the request of the family, visitation will be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou on Sunday, December 12, 2021, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Visitation will resume Monday, December 13 from 8:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM. A rosary will be prayed in her honor on Sunday at 6:00 PM and will be led by Deacon Chuck Ortego.
