January 25, 1943 — December 22, 2022

MAMOU – Funeral services will be held at a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou on Monday, December 26, 2022, for Gerralyn Granger Brunet, 79, who passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at the Calcutta House in Lafayette, LA.

Gerralyn Granger Brunet was born January 25, 1943, in Mamou, LA to the late Evy L. and Naise Guillory Granger.  She married the love of her life, Elden Brunet and together they farmed for many years. Later she became a hairdresser and loved styling hair but mostly enjoyed a good visit.  She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and baking for others.  Gerri was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  Gerri loved to laugh and lived life to the fullest. Her family and friends will miss her big personality and bright beautiful smile but rejoice in knowing she is celebrated in heaven.

She fought a long and courageous battle and leaves behind her loving family; daughters, Daphne Krampe and husband, EJ of Lafayette and Kathy Soileau and husband, Bo of Ville Platte; son, Wendell Brunet and wife, Michelle of Mamou; eight grandchildren, Emily Soileau Wyninger, Brandon Soileau, Sarah Soileau, Evyn Soileau, Gabrielle Brunet, Drake Brunet, Grant Krampe and Bennett Krampe; four great-grandchildren, Joseph Porter Wyninger, Elden Henry Wyninger, Zelie Kate Soileau and Nora Jane Soileau; and sisters, Ella Lintzen, Becky McCauley and husband, Ervin, and Jenny Duplechin and husband, Luther.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Elden Brunet; parents, Evy L. and Naise Guillory Granger; sisters, Georgianna Manuel Reed and Ethel Cordes; and brother, Robley Granger.

At the request of the family, visitation will be observed at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou on Monday, December 26, 2022, from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM. A rosary will be prayed on Monday at 1:30 PM.
