Ferrel Bob Guillory was born on January 27, 1940 in Mamou to Delta and Elda Guillory. Ferrel always had a joyful and friendly personality and often entertained others with his dry sense of humor. He enjoyed listening to French music and dancing at Fred’s Lounge in Mamou. Ferrel never passed up an opportunity to eat crawfish and drink beer with family and friends. Two of his pastimes were people watching and riding around town to “check out what was going on.” Ferrel was a dedicated, hard worker who worked in the finance business as a manager for 30 years.  Even in his retirement he worked as a bus driver for handicapped children for 22 years. This fun-loving man will be missed greatly by those that knew him.

Ferrel is survived by his son, Chris Guillory and wife, Brenda of Mamou; daughter, Tammy Guillory Pommier and husband, Bobby of Mamou; seven grandchildren: Kristy Lafleur and husband, Dwayne; Amy Faul and husband, Josh; Kevin Richard and wife, Lynda; Maci Lejeune and husband, Josh, Bryce Richard and wife, Said, Nicole Pommier, and Megan Simpson and husband, Brody; seventeen great grandchildren; and sister, Glory Guillory Comeaux of Lafayette.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Delta and Elda Guillory; his wife, Melba S. Guillory; grandson, Beau Aaron Landreneau; brother, Gerard “Jay” Guillory; and sister, Elmonia Guillory Sinitiere.

The family requests that a visitation be held on Thursday, June 24, 2021 beginning at 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou, Louisiana. Visitation will resume on Friday, June 25, 2021 beginning at 8:00 AM until time of service. A rosary, led by Deacon Chuck Ortego, will be prayed in Ferrel’s name Thursday evening at 6:00 PM.
