Evans Douget, Jr.

MAMOU – Funeral Services will be held for Evans Paul Douget, Jr. at 3:00 PM on Friday, February 18, 2022, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou.  Deacon Gary Gaudin will conduct funeral services.  Burial will follow in Bieber Cemetery.

Evans Paul “EJ” Douget, Jr., 65, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at his residence. “EJ” was born on December 1, 1956, in Mamou, LA to Evans Paul Douget, Sr. and Pearl Marcantel Douget.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.  His family meant the world to him.  He enjoyed cooking and listening to music. “EJ” will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Anna Douget; two sons, Shannon Paul Douget and wife, Sarah of Mamou and Brandon Douget of Mamou; daughter, Latosha Douget Ardoin and husband, Steven of Mamou; nine grandchildren, Cameron, Mason, Izzy, Josh, Brandon, Jasmine, Zack, Pacin and Emery; great-granddaughter, Gracelynn; two sisters, Geniva Guillory and husband, Robert of Mamou and Faye Landreneau of Mamou; five brothers, Fred Douget and wife, Vicky, Gary Douget, Phil Douget of Crosby, TX, Ronnie Douget and fiancée, Ann Foret, and Jeffery Douget; and his father and mother in law, Charlie and Barbara Manuel.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Evans Paul Douget, Sr. and Pearl Marcantel Douget; and brother, David Douget.

Visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Mamou on Friday, February 18, 2022, from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM.  A rosary will be prayed by Deacon Gary Gaudin at 2:30 PM.
