MAMOU - Private graveside services will be held at 3:30 PM on Saturday, March 28, 2020 for Edrick Joseph Berzas,75, who passed away on Friday, March 27, 2020 in Ville Platte.
Burial will take place in the Bieber Cemetery.
Reverend Brad McKelvy will conduct services.
Edrick Joseph Berzas was born in Mamou to Edward and Evelyn Landreneau Berzas. Edrick proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed making wonderful memories with his family while fishing, hunting, and camping. When not enjoying his time with family, Edrick worked for the Evangeline Parish Police Jury. The world lost a great man but his memory lives on in the hearts of those he held dear.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Diana Monk Berzas; daughters, Tina Fontenot and husband, John, and Wendy Turner and husband, Keith; sons Johnny Berzas and wife, Janie and Donny Berzas and wife Renee; brothers Donald Berzas and wife Gerrey; and sisters Mercy Higginbotham, Carla Thibodeaux and husband, Patrick, and Faye Guidry and husband, Terry. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his 10 grandchildren Matthew Turner, Michael Berzas, Tristan Turner, Chedwick Blanchard, Stephen Fruge, Anthony Fruge, Casey John Fontenot, Kayla Berzas, Kelsey Berzas, and Kolby Berzas and 12 great grandchildren.
Edrick was preceded in death by his parents Edward Berzas and Evelyn Landreneau Berzas, brother Harold James Berzas, sister Ida May Fontenot, and grandson Brandon Joseph Berzas.
