VIDRINE – A Memorial Mass will be held for Darren Wade Vidrine at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 20, 2022, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou. Interment will follow at New. St. Ann’s Mausoleum. Father Billy Massie, pastor of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the mass and conduct funeral services.
Darren Wade Vidrine, 59, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 16, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was proceeded in death by his parents, JB and Hilda Berzas Vidrine and is survived by his wife of 40 years, Karen Vidrine; his 2 sons, Thomas (Lacey) Vidrine, Alex (Sarah) Vidrine and his daughter, Emily (Tyler) Kidder. He was a grandfather of 2, Cecille and Colton and a brother of 3 Mitch (Debbie) Vidrine, Johnny (Ellen) Chapman and Missy Vidrine.
He spent his childhood in Vidrine where he then raised a family of his own. He enjoyed spending his time hunting and fishing and sharing his love for the outdoors with his wife and children. His greatest joy was being in the presence of his loving family. He owned and operated Vidrine’s Tire Center for 28 years. He served his community through various organizations including MHS Boaster Club, St. Ann’s Parish Council and many others.
Through his battle he participated in medical studies and that effort continues to further MSA research. MSA may have taken control of his body, but not his mind. Darren still lived his life with purpose until his last breath. His illness did not define him. His witty and humorous personality still out shined all the struggles he endured for almost 10 years. Darren will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
