MAMOU – Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou on Monday, May 3, 2021 for Betty Vegas, 66, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 in Lafayette, LA.
Brother David Plunkett will conduct funeral services.
Burial will take place in Campbell Cemetery.
Betty Vegas was born on May 26, 1954 to Jules Fontenot and Ella Mae Fontenot Guillory.
Betty was an LPN and worked at Savoy Medical Center for many years. She delivered one of her grandchildren and assisted in the delivery of all her other grandchildren. Betty loved sewing. She enjoyed camping and spending time with her family and friends. Her family and friends will miss her dearly.
She is survived by her two daughters, Micki Lavergne and husband, Keith of Mamou and Danielle Vegas and husband, Jeremy of Golden Meadow, LA; twelve grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three sisters, Theresa Miller and husband, Sheldon of Iota, Dorothy Serlin and husband, Phil of Anaheim, CA, Susan Bergeron and husband, June of Eunice; two brothers, Donald Fontenot and wife, Sara of Pineville and Mark Fontenot and wife, Yvette of Ville Platte.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Bill Campbell; second husband, William Vegas and two daughters, Elizabeth Lenore Campbell and Rebecca Sliman.
The family requests that visitation will be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou on Monday, May 3, 2021 from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
