Mamou- It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Wilfred "Pop" Papillion, 88, announces his passing.
Father Billy Massie, pastor of St. Ann's Catholic Church will conduct a Mass of Christina Burial Saturday at St. Ann's Catholic Church at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Mamou, beginning at 9:00 AM until Mass time. Pop will be laid to rest in the New St. Ann's Cemetery following Mass.
Pop was a proud member of Laborer's International Union of North America Local 207 . His main goal was to insure his family's success. He commuted to the refineries in Lake Charles from his home in Mamou every day, for over 50 years.
Pop was totally and completely a family person. He was devoted beyond devotion. He enjoyed gardening and Cattle Farming. He and his family were longtime Parishioners of the St. Ann's Catholic Church.
Pop's memories will live on through his family. He is survived by two daughters, Margaret Guillory of Lafayette, and Joyce Espree and James Timmons of Sugarland, Tx; two brothers, Howell Papillion and Mabel of Baton Rouge, and Hebert Papillion and Rose of Swords; Three grandchildren, Stanley Guillory of San Antonia, Tx, Angelique Matthews and husband, Steve of London and Christina Hoyer and husband, Stephen of Saudi Arabia; one great-granddaughter, Jasmin Guillory and a very special sister-in-law Lorena Kilchrist two step- great-grandchildren, Syndney Hoyer and Deval Andrews.
Pop will now reunite in Heaven with his wife, Wilva Ann Papillion; four brothers, Uwell, Johnny, Francis and Cleveland Papillion and sister Francis. They await him with open arms and joyous hearts.
