Mamou- Funeral services were held for Virgie Mae Fontenot,85, on Monday, December 18, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou, with burial in the New St. Anns Cemetery. Father Randy Moreau, a nephew of Mrs. Fontenot officiated . Mrs. Fontenot , a resident of Mamou died on Sunday, December 17, 2006 at 4:17 A.M. at the Evangeline Extended Care Hospital in Mamou.

Mrs. Fontenot is survived by two daughters, Bernella Manuel, Rebecca Martel both of Mamou; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

Mrs. Vergie was preceded in death by, her husband, Mr. Odey Fontenot.

Visitation was from 2-PM 10 -PM a rosary was recited at 7 PM on Sunday, December 17, 2006. The Funeral Home reopened on Monday, December 18, 2006 at 8 AM until time of services.

Ardoin Funeral Home of Mamou was in charge of arrangements.
