Theresa Sylvester

MAMOUIt is with great sadness that the family of Theresa Sylvester announces her passing on Friday, December 11, 2009 at the age of 72. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at 11:00 am at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou. Rite of Committal will follow in the New St. Ann Cemetery with Father Bryce Sibley officiating.

A loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, Theresa will be missed by her loving husband of 52 years, Clyde Sylvester of Lafayette, LA; her loving daughter, Cynthia Gerard and husband, Pat of Clemson, SC; her two loving sons, Craig Sylvester and wife, Robin of Sterling, VA and Todd Sylvester and wife, Robin of Katy, TX; two loving brothers, Burley Marcantel of Eunice, LA and Charles Marcantel of Mamou, LA; and six wonderful grandchildren, Royce Sylvester, Tristin Sylvester, Erin Gerard, Travis Sylvester, Rachel Gerard, and Anna Sylvester.

Now she rests in heaven with her beloved parents, Bodair and Elia Marcantel; one brother, Elwood Marcantel; and one sister, Wilma Dean Young.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Mamou on Monday, December 14, 2009 from 12:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm Monday afternoon.
