Theresa Jane Granger Soileau

Theresa Jane Granger Soileau was a lifelong resident of Mamou whose life was defined by love, devotion, and family. She was the heart of her home and the matriarch who brought everyone together. To her children, she was “Mom,” and to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was lovingly known as “Maw Maw. "Theresa found her greatest joy in caring for her family. Her home was a place where everyone was welcome—a gathering place filled with laughter, stories, good food, and cherished memories. If you were lucky enough to sit at Theresa’s table, you were going to be fed. She expressed her love through cooking and baking, and her homemade pies, sweet dough pies, brownies, pecan cakes, and treasured family recipes will continue to be enjoyed and passed down through generations.

She was a kind and compassionate woman who loved conversation and spending time with those she loved. She took pride in caring for her family and making sure everyone was fed, comfortable, and loved. As a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Theresa’s greatest accomplishment was the family she built and the generations she helped nurture.Theresa leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love. She is survived by her children, Randy Brown and wife Cindy, Daniel Brown and wife Loretta, Keven Brown, Karlene Brown Pitre and husband Bennett, Mitchell “Mitch” Pellerin, and Pam Verrett; grandchildren, Kristy Brown Hebert and husband Cody, Kelly Brown Hotard and husband Jonathan, Logan Brown, Candice Brown, Brandon Brown and girlfriend Brittney, Hayden Brown and wife Lacy, Raven Robicheaux, Lacey Pitre and husband Danny, Jarrett Pitre and fiancée Emily, Mitchell Jude Pellerin and wife Julie, and Zack Pellerin; and great-grandchildren, Edmond, Braedyn, Isabella, Laik, Mercy, Khoen, London, Alyssa, Jace, Aubree, Braxton, Adaleigh, Abelyn, Evie-Roe, Kalup, Kanon, Khloe, Jude Paul, and Colter. She is also survived by her sister, Janice Deshotel, and devoted caregiver and close friend, Patricia Albert.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Irvin Soileau; parents, Morris Granger and Pearl Manuel Granger; brother, Jimmy Granger; and great-granddaughters, Everly LaLonde and Kinlee Brown.

Pallbearers honored to carry Theresa to her final resting place are Hayden Brown, Mitchell Jude Pellerin, Zack Pellerin, Cody Hebert, Jonathon Hotard, and Daniel Pitre.

The family table may never feel quite the same without her, but the love Theresa gave her family did not leave with her. It remains in the children she loved the grandchildren she cherished, and the great-grandchildren who will grow up hearing stories about their Maw Maw.

She is now at peace in Heaven, reunited with those who went before her.

She was deeply loved, will be deeply missed, and will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
