Saturnino "Nino" Contreras

Saturnino "Nino" Contreras, born October 15, 1998, peacefully passed away on May 7, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Nino was a quietly remarkable individual whose gentle presence touched the hearts of those who knew him.

A man of simple pleasures, Nino found joy in fishing and immersing himself in the melodies of music. He carried a fondness for anime, especially the beloved series Sailor Moon, and had a special bond with his faithful dog, whom he affectionately named "Dog." His enthusiasm extended to remote control cars and playing video games, pursuits that reflected his playful spirit and quiet delights.

Nino’s life was marked by the love and support of a close-knit family. He is survived by his mother, Amanda Contreras of Ville Platte; his brothers Tyler Contreras and spouse Kayla of Mamou, Nasario Contreras of Ville Platte, and Roberto Contreras of Mamou; as well as his half-brother Corey Roy of Elton and half-sister Elizabeth Contreras of El Salvador. His paternal grandmother, Juanita Phena, also survives him. Among his cherished family were his nieces Rosalie Contreras, Isabelle Contreras, Brooklyn Johnson, and Savannah Fontenot, who will carry fond memories of their uncle's quiet strength. He was preceded in death by his father, Santos Contreras.

Visitation to honor and remember Nino will be held on May 14, 2026, from 8:00 AM until the funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM the same day at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Mamou. Burial will follow in Bieber Cemetery with Pastor Wilford Ardoin officiating. 

Saturnino "Nino" Contreras's life, though too brief, was filled with moments of quiet joy and enduring love. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends, remembered for the gentle soul he was and the simple pleasures he shared so wholeheartedly.
