MAMOUIt is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Rosa Belle Fontenot
announces her passing on Tuesday, November 01, 2011 at Oaklane Wellness Center, at the age of 79.A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou, on Saturday November 5, 2011 at 10:00 am Rite of Committal will follow at the New St. Anns Cemetery with Father Richard Vidrine Celebrant.
Rosa, was an incredible mother, grandmother, sister and friend will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by one daughter, Lula Tate, of Lafayette two sons, Raymond Fontenot, Jr and wife Belinda, of Mamou and Michael Fontenot ,of Hawaii three stepchildren, Kenneth Fontenot, of Austin, Tx. Hank Fontenot and wife, Debbie of Florida and Sheila Schwertz and husband Art, of Metairie six grandchildren, Jessica Perdices and husband, Charles, Shane Fontenot, Sam Tate all of Mamou, Rachel Houle and husband Marty of Houston, Randy Passi and wife Courtney, and Paul Tate III all of Lafayette stepgrandchildren, Christopher Schiff and his wife Anna, of Lafayette, Stephen Schiff and wife Kim, of Metairie, Daniel Schiff of Metairie, and Mandy of Florida.twelve greatgrandchildren one brother Calvin Fontenot , of Ville Platte, and one sister Lydie Fontenot also of Ville Platte She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer Fontenot and Lorise Ortego her husbands, Raymond Fontenot, Sr. and Wedline Fontenot three sons, Randy, Joseph and Daniel.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Mamou on Friday, November 04, 2011 from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm.and will resume on Saturday November 05, 2011 from 8:00 am until time of services..A Rosary will be recited on Friday evening at 6:30 pm
