Rita Kay Fagan, a devoted mother and cherished grandmother, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025, in Pine Prairie, Louisiana, at the age of 73. Born on Wednesday, August 20, 1952, in Santa Rosa, California, Rita lived a life that was rich in love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
Rita made her mark as a customer service representative; her friendly demeanor and dedication to helping others left a lasting impression on her colleagues and the customers she served. Her ability to connect with people was a quality that endeared her to many.
One of Rita's greatest joys was spending time with her granddaughters, Kayleigh Jo, Lacie, and Harlee. She delighted in spoiling them with shopping trips and dinners at their favorite restaurants, creating cherished moments that they will carry with them forever. These experiences highlighted Rita's loving nature and her desire to build fond memories with those she adored.
In addition to her family, Rita was known for her passion for games of chance, often found enjoying her time at her favorite casinos. This zest for life and fun reflected her lively spirit and the joy she found in everyday pleasures.
Rita's family includes her daughter, Ashley Jones (Ricky Stann) and her grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Kenny Hopper, and her sisters, Mary Berthold, Margaret Archuleta, and Debbie Stone, who will remember her for her warmth and kindness.
Rita was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Neil Fagan; parents, GC and Wanda Hopper; brothers, Sam and George Hopper; as well as sisters, Betty Burnes and Loneta West.
Rita Kay Fagan will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, joy, and connection continues to inspire and uplift her family and friends. May she rest in peace.
