Mamou

MAMOU - Ricky Ray Nacquin, a cherished father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at the age of 63. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou at 3:00 PM. Burial will follow at Reed Cemetery.

Ricky was a dedicated and hardworking individual, having served 40 years as a warehouse manager for the City of Mamou. His commitment to his work reflected his strong sense of community and loyalty to those he served.

While Ricky took pride in his work, he found pure joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, often spending weekends in the outdoors, relishing the beauty of nature. In his free time, he embraced his creative side through woodworking and could always be found with a classic Western or a heartwarming Hallmark movie on the screen. His culinary talents were legendary; he often cooked and prepared meals to feed the entire city of Mamou.

Ricky is survived by his beloved son, Shawn Nacquin (Ashley) of Alexandria, and his daughter, Cherie Reinagel (Raymond) of Mamou; his sisters, Debbie Boone and Lisa Fawvor; seven grandchildren, Travis, Tory, Destiny, Nicholas, Xander, Braylen, and Autumn; and one great-grandchild, TJ. His warmth, humor, and larger-than-life personality will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Sandra Darlene Nacquin; his parents, Ray Bert “Bee” Nacquin and Mary Adia Nacquin.

In honor of Ricky's life, a visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the time of service.

As we remember Ricky, we take comfort in the countless memories he created, the love he shared, and the legacy he leaves behind. He may have departed from our sight, but he will forever remain in our hearts.
