MAMOU-Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Mamou on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, for Richard Luke Reed, 66, who passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2019 in Alexandria, LA.

Deacon Chuck Ortego will conduct the funeral service.

Richard Luke Reed was born in Eunice, LA on February 16, 1953 to his parents Burkeman Reed and Euna Courville Reed.  Richard had a huge passion for music.  He loved playing the guitar and piano and going to concerts.  He loved the outdoors and going fishing.

He is survived by his daughter, Maggie Mae Reed of Troy, OH; son, Tommy James F. Reed of Troy, OH; three grandchildren, Lakota Mills, Blade Mills and Tyler Clark; great-granddaughter, Phoenix Mills; one brother, Phillip W. Reed and wife Linda Reed of Ville Platte; three sisters, Sheila Ardoin and husband Ernest “Peanut" Ardoin of Ville Platte, Sheryl Reed of Mamou and Angela Reed of Ville Platte and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Jo Ann Reed; two sisters, Mary Catherine Richard and Jerelyn Faye Maricle.

The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Mamou on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 from 12:00 PM until 3:00 PM.
