Ramona Faye Lavergne

December 18, 1950 — February 20, 2024

Ramona Faye "Mona" Lavergne, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, in Pine Prairie, Louisiana at the age of 73. Funeral Services will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home of Mamou on Friday, February 23, 2024, at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Pine Point Cemetery. Deacon Chuck Ortego will be Celebrant over all services.

Mona was born on Monday, December 18, 1950, in Lawtell, Louisiana to the late Cam Lavergne and Lillian Meche Lavergne. Mona’s life was a testament of love and devotion to her family. She found immense fulfillment in nurturing her children and instilling in them values of love and unity that created a strong family bond built on respect and affection.

Mona's simple joys included moments spent by a crackling bonfire, tending to her blossoming garden, and taking pride in her yardwork. These serene moments connected her deeply with the beauty of nature that surrounded her, bringing her peace and contentment.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Mona were touched by her warm and caring nature. She found joy in creating lasting memories with loved ones that will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

She will be deeply missed by her husband, James Guillory; sons, Jody Brasseaux, Oliver Brasseaux, and Jeremy Lavergne; daughter, Joline Brasseaux; eleven grandchildren, Danielle Fontenot, Macey Brasseaux, Angel Brasseaux, Nena Brasseaux, Cage Belleau, Devin Brasseaux, Carrie Lee, Aaron Sylvester, Aleus "Joey' Brasseaux, Brenton Louviere, and Jeremy "Tray" Lavergne. Also left to cherish her memories are her nine great-grandchildren, her brothers, Kermit Lavergne, Ricky McGee, and Curtis McGee; her sister, Betty Lavergne and her special aunt, Pearlie Hebert. 

She is proceeded in death by her parents; her brothers, Alton Lavergne, Oliver Lavergne, and Junior Lavergne; her sisters, Mary L. Dupis, Mickey Lavergne and Rita McGee.

At the request of the family, a Visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home of Mamou on Thursday, February 22, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Friday, February 23, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
