Ralland Ray Boone, Sr. was born on November 19, 1944, in Eunice, LA to Alexon and Lorena Boone. He was a man of many talents and lived a life filled with love, passion, and devotion to his family. On January 6, 2024, at the age of 79, he passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Ardoin's Funeral Home of Mamou at 2:30 PM. Intermittent will take place at Mamou Church of Christ Cemetery.
He was a devoted family man. Family was everything to him; it was the core of his existence. Ralland relished every opportunity to create lasting memories with those he held dear. His presence was a constant source of love and support for his late wife, children, grandchildren, and all extended family members. Ralland's warm smile brightened any room he entered, and his compassionate nature endeared him to all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Ralland had a deep sense of patriotism that led him to serve in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967 as part of the esteemed Acadiana 101st Airborne division. He selflessly defended our nation's freedom and displayed immense courage during his time in service. Ralland's commitment to protecting the values we hold dear is commendable and will forever be remembered with gratitude. After departing the service, he began his career as a welder, where he skillfully welded every bead one by one until his retirement.
He found solace in the great outdoors. Hunting and fishing were not merely hobbies for him but rather ways to connect with nature on a profound level. Whether it was exploring the woods or casting a line into calm waters, these activities allowed Ralland to find serenity and be at peace with himself and the world around him.
Ralland Ray Boone, Sr. will be missed beyond words. Left to cherish his memories are his son, Ralland Boone, Jr. and wife, Anne Marie of Prairieville; his daughter, Lori Boone Irmen and husband, Patrick of Abbeville; eight grandchildren, James Boone, Ashton Nichols and husband, Josh, Hunter Boone and their mother, Michelle Merwin, Garrett Thompson and wife, Hannah, Taylor Thompson, Trisha Maxey and husband, Josh and her mother, DeNece Coleman, Britni and Caleb Lollis and their father, Todd Lollis; and eight great grandchildren, Colton, Nash, Miles, Stone and Sawyer and their mother, Taylor Boone, King, Amilliah, and Tevn; his brother, Charles Boone of Gonzales; his sisters, Myrtle Meaux of Houston, TX, Diane Belfour and husband, Leander of Eunice, Patricia Bergeron and husband, Clay of Duralde.
