MAMOU -- Phillip Carl Douget, a loving country man who had the gift of dancing moves, passed away on September 25, 2023, in Crosby, Texas. He was born on March 14, 1961, in Mamou, Louisiana. Phillip was beloved for his kind nature and his ability to make anyone feel welcome. He loved everybody from Texas to Louisiana and had a special place in his heart for country roads.

Phillip was a man of many passions and interests.  He was extraordinarily passionate about “Loving everyone like pigs love corn”. He enjoyed cooking and was known for his delicious meals that brought family and friends together. Gathering around the table with loved ones was one of his greatest joys. Phillip also had a deep love for sports, particularly the LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints. He cheered on his favorite teams with unwavering enthusiasm. Additionally, he adored the spirit and celebration of Mardi Gras.

When Phillip wasn't in the kitchen or cheering on his beloved teams, you could often find him riding ATVs in the countryside. Exploring nature brought him a sense of peace and freedom that he cherished.

Phillip will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving family and friends, including Geneva Guillory (Robert Guillory), Frederick Douget Sr. (Vicky Douget), Gary "Dog" Douget, Jeffery "Puppy" Douget, Ronnie "Mutt" Douget (Ann Foret); sons, Michael Shane Douget, Cody Lee Douget; grandson, Rougger Douget; sister-in-law, Anna Douget and godchild, Fredrick James Douget Jr.
