Norma Fontenot Manuel

Norma Fontenot Manuel, affectionately known as "Maw," peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, surrounded by her beloved family, at the age of 81. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 10, 2024, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Pine Prairie, LA. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Pine Prairie, LA.

Born on November 29, 1942, Norma's life was a tapestry of compassion and warmth. As a seamstress at Theresa's, she poured her heart and soul into every stitch, creating not just garments but also bonds with those she met along the way. Her dedication to her craft was compared to the love she showed to her family and friends.

Norma's vibrant personality was shone in everything she did. Described as loving, caring, and understanding, she had a way of making everyone feel welcomed and appreciated. Her laughter was infectious, brightening the darkest of days and bringing joy to all those around her.

In her free time, Norma found solace in simple pleasures like sewing, gardening, crafting, and of course, enjoying good food. She shared countless laughs while playing Bingo with the Silver Eagles and never missed an opportunity to have fun with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Norma will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 66 years and 3 months, Allen Manuel; son, Scott Manuel (Donna); daughters, Anita Clark (Keith), Shelly Willett, Vickie Manuel, Tonya Brassette (Jeff); grandchildren, Nikki Manuel McIver (Danny), Dylan Manuel (Meghin), Ashley Hazelton (Ricky), Kelsey Johnson (Robert), Kylie Fontenot (Kyle), Danielle Doyle (Jarrett), Crystal Savant Theriot, Taylor Fontenot (Kelly), Mindy Rigney (Dave), Tori Deshotels (Nick), Regan Theriot (Brandon), Victoria LeDoux, Sagan Guillory, Sylar Guillory and Bella Brassette and 31 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and Ezolia Fontenot; her son, Richard Allen Manuel and son-in-law, Gary Willett.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Pine Prairie, LA on Thursday, May 9, 2024, beginning at 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a Rosary being prayed at 6:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 8:00 am until the time of service.

Serving as pallbearers are Chris Briley, Jamie Meylian, Dylan Manuel, Taylor Fontenot, Sagan Guillory, Sylar Guillory, and Honorable pallbearers are Jeff Brassette and Keith Clark.
