MAMOU It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Murry Rider, 81, announces his passing on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Savoy Medical Center. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 16, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou. Rite of committal will follow in the New St. Anns Cemetery with Fr. Mark Melancon Celebrant.
A loving father, brother, and grandfather, Murry leaves behind his three sons Jessie James Rider and wife Elizabeth of St. Landry, James Paul Rider and wife Marie of Reddell, and Murry Rider Jr. and wife Karen of Ville Platte, his daughter Gloria Jean Bourque and husband Irving of Ville Platte, his sister Maudry Soileau of Ville Platte, 25 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.
He now rests in heaven with his wife Mercedes Rider, his sons Michael Rider and Robert Rider, and his daughter Patricia Ann Bordelon.
At the request of the family, visitation will take place at Ardoins Funeral Home in Mamou beginning Sunday, April 15, 2012 at 11:00 AM and continuing until time of service on Monday. A rosary will be recited Sunday evening at 6:00 PM.
