MAMOU – Funeral services will be held at a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou on Friday, January 6, 2023, for Mercedise Naquin Guidry, 96, who passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at the Savoy Care Center in Mamou, LA.
Father Bala Rayapati will be celebrant of the Mass and conduct funeral services.
Burial will take place in New St. Ann’s Cemetery.
Mercedise leaves behind her loving family; daughter, Sylvia Guidry Rider of Mamou; son, Erwin James Guidry of Mamou; grandson, Edward Rider and wife, Monica of Crowley; great-granddaughter, Brittany Gourgues; and sister, Maretta Corkin of Bogolusa.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Wiley Joseph Guidry; parents, Dedia and Virginia McDaniel Naquin; sisters, Gloria Dee Douget and Nelwyn Miller; and brothers, Ovella Naquin, Ray Bert Naquin, and Clif Naquin.
At the request of the family, visitation will be observed at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou on Friday, January 6, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. A rosary will be prayed on Friday at 12:30 PM.
