MAMOUIt is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of, Mavis Morein, 82 announces her passing on Saturday, August 31, 2013 2:57 pm at Opelousas General Hospital in Opelousas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 2, 2013 at 3:30 pm at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou. Rite of Committal will follow in the Old St. Anns Cemetery with Father Thainese officiating.
Mavis will be greatly missed by her two sons, Wayne Manuel and wife Monica of Mamou and Darrel Manuel and wife Vicky of Lafayette Three daughters, Janell Deshotel and husband Jay of Eunice, Brenda Lavergne and husband Kent of Swords and Melissa Vidrine and husband Steve of Mamou one sister, Clarisse Cormier of Ville Platte fifteen grandchildren and twenty four greatgrandchildren

She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Lew Allen Manuel and James Dionel Morein, her parents Alex and Allie Marcantel, and one brother, Clarence Marcantel.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Mamou on Monday, September 2, 2013 from 9:00 am until time of Services. A Rosary will be recited at 3:00 pm Monday afternoon by Deacon Chuck Ortego.
