Mary Ida Fontenot Curran

Mary Ida Fontenot Curran, who was born on Friday, August 25, 1939, passed away in Mamou, Louisiana on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at the age of 86.

Mary retired from the Federal Civil Service after a distinguished 30 year career with the Department of the Navy.

She is survived by her sister, Gloria DiMartino of Baton Rouge; nephews, Eric “Zeke” Fontenot and wife, Valerie of Mamou; Bruce DiMartino and wife, Lori of Central; Brian DiMartino and wife, Danita of Walker; and nieces, Lelia F Bordelon of Bordelonville; and Myra Fontenot of Lake Charles.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond M. Curran; parents, Pascal and Louise Fontenot; brother, Flora Fontenot; sister in law, Grada Belle; brother in law, Sam DiMartino; and nephew in law, Michael Bordelon.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2026 at Ardoin Funeral Home in Mamou beginning at 10:30 AM until time of service at 2:00 PM with Deacon Gary Gaudin conducting funeral services at Ardoin’s Funeral Home.
