Marlene Faye Douget Landreneau

MAMOU – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 5, 2023  at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou at 2:00 PM for Marlene Faye Douget Landreneau who passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023 at the age of 67.  Burial will follow in the New St. Ann’s Cemetery.

Marlene Douget Landreneau was born in Mamou, Louisiana to Evans Paul Douget, Sr. and Pearl Marcantel Douget on Saturday, September 24, 1955.  Her greatest joy was that of taking care of and spending time with her family. 

She is survived by one son, Chad Arnaud and wife, Becky of Vidrine; stepson, Michael Landreneau and wife, Kim of Vidrine; nine grandchildren, Hunter Arnaud and fiancé, Bobbi McNaughton, Hailey Arnaud, Harlie Arnaud, Celia Vershay, Kelsey Landreneau, Lil Mike Landreneau, Jenna Douzart, Joni Chapman and Tony Rougeau; brothers Fredrick James Douget and wife, Vickie, Phillip Carl Douget, Gary Paul Douget, Jeffery Jay Douget, and Ronald Wayne Douget and fiancé, Ann Foret; sister, Geneva Guillory and husband, Robert and half-brother, Wilson Douget.

Marlene is preceded in death by her parents, Evans Paul Douget, Sr. and Pearl Marcantel Douget; husband, Jimmie Jude Landreneau; daughters, Amanda Maria Arnaud and Shannon Yvette Chapman; grandsons, Jade Fuselier and Brock Landreneau; brothers, David Douget and Evans Douget, Jr.; and companion, Jerry Fontenot.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2023 beginning at 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte and again on Monday, June 5, 2023 beginning at 8:00 AM until time of service.  A rosary will be recited on Sunday evening at 6:00 PM and will be led by Deacon Tim Donovan.

Pall bearers for the service are: Hunter Arnaud, Ronnie Douget, Frederick Douget, Jarred Douget, Dwayne Guillory, and Cody Fontenot.
