MAMOU It is with great sadness that the family of Mark Deshotels, 75 announces his passing on December 16, 2012 in Baton Rouge. A Mass of Christian burial will be Celebrated on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at 9:00 am at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou. Rite of Committal will follow in the New St. Anns Mausoleum, with Father Mark Melancon Officiating.
Mr. Deshotels, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Mamou, was a retired Mechanical Engineer and an officer in the United States Navy . A loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, he will be lovingly remembered by his wife of twentyfive years , Donna Bozeman Deshotels of Baton Rouge one son Kyle Mark Deshotels, and his wife Allison Maud, TX one stepson, Ryan Bales and his wife Kristina one sister Mary Deshotels Strauss of Lafayette one granddaughter, Skyler Deshotels two stepgrandchildren, Gavin and Maddyx. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Bingo. Pallbearers will be Trey Prudhomme, Hannon Deshotels, Paul Guillory, Craig Aguillard, Kent Aguillard and Kristopher Aguillard. He is preceded in death by his parents, Emery and Hazel Deshotels and one sister, Catherine Deshotels Myers. Family request that visiting hours be observed Wednesday, December 19 2012 from 9:00 am until time of services on Thursday. A rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at 6:00 pm.
