MAMOU – Funeral services for Mark Anthony Fuselier, who passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at the age of 64, will be held on Monday, February 12, 2024. Services will be conducted by Deacon Ben Soileau at 11:00 AM at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte. Burial will follow in the New St. Ann Cemetery in Mamou.
Mark was born in Mamou, Louisiana on Saturday, February 6, 1960 to the late Harry Joseph and Martha Soileau Fuselier. He had a keen interest in arts and crafts, enjoyed playing bingo, and cherished his time spent bowling. Notably, he was an avid participant in the Special Olympics where he showcased his talent in horseshoes, bowling, and track events. Mark's most adored holiday was undeniably Mardi Gras. He liked bright, vivid colors which represented his personality and zest for life. Mark was a joy to be around and a true inspiration of determination and strength; his presence will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his three brothers, Donald (Margie) Fuselier of Mamou, Clyde (Peggy) Fuselier of Crowley, and Lloyd (Karen) Fuselier of Baton Rouge; one sister, Angela (Alan) Grimsley of Lafayette; and sister-in-law, Donna Fontenot of Vidrine. Also left behind are his numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Mark is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Glyn Fontenot.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Monday, February 12, 2024, from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mark’s memory to the Special Olympics or the Evangeline ARC.
