MAMOUIt is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Loretta Menier Lanthier announces her passing on Friday, March 12, 2010 at her residence. She was 70. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 2:00 pm on Monday, March 15, 2010 at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou. Rite of Committal will follow in the New St. Anns Cemetery with Father Jude Thierry Celebrant.

Loretta was a resident of Mamou and a homemaker. She devoted her life to the care of her beloved family. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends but spending time with her grandchildren brought a great deal of joy to her life. Loretta loved to sew and make beautiful things for her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was very much loved by her beloved husband, James Rodney Lanthier of Mamou motherinlaw, Mary Lanthier of Mamou her three loving daughters, Karen Lanthier Bertrand and husband, Jr and Ellen Lanthier Smith and husband, Lynn all of Eunice and Kimberely Lanthier of New Orleans. She was the loving grandmother of six grandchildren, Brandon and Joshua Bertrand, Brody and Jarrod Guidry, Jordy Lanthier and Jonathon Smith and four great grandchildren, Alyssa and Trevan Lanthier and Connor and Luke Bertrand.

Now she rests in Heaven with her beloved parents, Harry and Esther Brasseaux Menier a son, Andy Lanthier and a grandson, Brooks Keith Lanthier.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Mamou on Sunday, March 14 from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Monday, March 15 from 8:00 pm until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Sunday evening.
