alignleftMAMOUIt is with great sadness that the family of Lilly Mae Fontenot, 88, announces her passing on Friday, November 27, 2009 at her residence. A Mass of Christian burial will be Celebrated Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 1:00 pm at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou. Rite of committal will follow in the Reed Cemetery with Fr. Jude Thierry celebrant.

A loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, she will be lovingly remembered by her son, Neal Fontenot and wife, Anna of Mamou; her daughter, Melba Gollott and husband, Donald of Houston, TX; one brother, Launey Fontenot of Houston, TX; one sister, Ethel Deshotel and husband, Wesley of Mamou; two grandchildren, Chris Haston and husband Gregg of Angleton, TX, and Robin Dillard and husband, Dustin of Mamou; five great-grandchildren, Tyler Oliver, Joshua Haston, Olivia Haston, Abigail Haston, and Madeline Haston; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Fontenot was preceded in death by her parents, Jerand and Louisa Ryder Fontenot; and a brother, Pershing Fontenot.

At the request of the family, visitation will be observed at Ardoins Funeral Home in Mamou on Friday, November 27, 2009 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Tuesday, November 28, 2009 from 8:00 am until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Friday evening.
