MAMOUIt is with great sadness that the family of Lillian G. Guillory,95 announces her passing on Monday, April 30, 2012 at Savoy Medical Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 12:30 pm on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Mamou. Rite of Committal will follow in the New St. Ann Mausoleum with her great grandson, Father Joshua Guillory as Celebrant.
A loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend, Lillian will be lovingly remembered by her four daughters, Loretta Guillory and husband, Delta of Reddell, Bonnie G. Clement of Houma, Betty J. Foret and husband, Al of Opelousas, and Dale Josephine Dodge of Minnesota and her identical twin sister, Lilly Mayeaux of Reddell 19 grandchildren, 37 greatgrandchildren, and 17 greatgreatgrandchildren.
She now rest in Heaven with her husband, Gilbert J. Guillory her beloved parents Hosea and Lena Guillory two brothers, Laten and Lumney Guillory and two sisters, Joyce Guillory and Ella Ray Manuel.
Lillian was owner and manager of the family Grocery Store. She was an excellent seamstress and loved to garden. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters for over fifty years, and taught Cathecism for twelve years She was also a member of the Pink Ladies. Mrs. Lillian loved to tell jokes as well as listen to them. She had a cheerful disposition.
The family request that visiting hours be observed Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and again Thursday, May 3, 2012 from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm Wednesday evening with Father Mark Melancon officiating.
