MAMOUIt is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Leona Vezinat announces her passing on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Mercy Regional Medical Center. Services will be held at the New Life Assembly of God in Ville Platte, at 3:00 pm on Friday, September 30, 2011 with Pastor Brian Dore officiating.
Leona a loving mother,daughter, wife, sister, friend, nurse, and most importantly Meemaw will be sadly missed by her husband of 39 years, Ralph Vezinat of Mamou her mother, Audrey Roy also of Mamou one son, Chris Vezinat and wife Jessica of Alexandria two daughters, Jamie Jaech of Lafayette, and Ashley Terry and husband Mitchell of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida
Four brothers, Ricky Launey, of Louisiana, LuLu Launey of Kansas, Mickey Launey of Arkansas, and Tony Launey of New Hampshire one sister, Cindy Brown of Lafayette four granddaughters, Emily Terry, Heather and Haily Vezinat and Olivia Ann marie Terry She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Marie Bourque, and one brother, Keith LauneyLeona was a devoted Christian She has touched so many lives in such a short time. The Family would like to give special thanks, to Dr Tommy Fontenot, Dr. Brandon Fontenot, and all the nurses and staff at Mercy Regional in Ville Platte that she considered dear friends and family
