Mamou A Mass of Christian Burial for Joylin F. Guillory, 82, will be celebrated on Monday, May 26, 2008 at 10:0 0 a.m. at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou, La. with Father Pius Valloran officiating. Burial will follow in the New St. Anns Cemetery in Mamou.
Joylin, a resident of Mamou, died on May 24, 2008 at the Savoy Care Center after an extended illness. She was a member of the Ladies Altar Society and Catholic Daughters Association for many years. She was also a member of the VFW Womens Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. Gardening, cooking, and baking were just a few of her loves in life.
A loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and neighbor, she is survived by one son, Charles Bean Guillory of Mamou; two daughters, Karen Reed and husband, Robert of Mamou, and Vivian Guillory and Ted Smith of Mamou; one brother, L.J. Burk Fontenot of Moss Bluff; two sisters, Edwina Chapman of Mamou and Jane Davis of Salt Lake City, UT; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Guillory; parents, Ortere and Vivian Fontenot; one daughter, Judith Fontenot; two brothers, Forrest Fontenot, Sr. and Francis Fontenot; and three grandchildren, Jacob and Roderick Fontenot, and Phoebe Bertrand
Visitation will begin Sunday, May 25, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Monday, May 26, 2008 from 7:00 a.m. until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening.
Ardoin Funeral Home of Mamou was in charge of arrangements.
