MAMOU-What an incredible life! A very intelligent, caring, smart, and sometimes sassy lady. Joyce Fontenot Reed meant so much too so many people. She was a loving wife, the best mom in the world, grandmother, a great grandmother, sister, and friend. Joyce loved her life and enjoyed every moment of it. She was a member of Saint Ann's Catholic Church. She worked for a short time at Guaranty Bank as a young lady. She went on to work Southwest Loan Company for several years. She then returned to Guaranty Bank at about the age of 40 to retire there as a loan officer. When most women were raising families and keeping house, she was the CEO and President of the Mamou chapter of the women's Lib movement and did not even know it! She loved spending time with family and was an avid reader. She loved romance and mystery novels. Joyce will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved this wonderful lady.

Mrs. Joyce leaves behind to cherish her memories Christine Reed Duplechin and husband James Weldon Duplechin. Three amazing grandchildren Zachery, Casey, and James Lucas, and great grandchildren Connor, Caitlin, Blaine, a brother Terry Fontenot and sister-in-law Barbara Manuel Fontenot. Joyce is now reunited in heaven with her husband Roland Reed of fifty years, her parents
Delphia and Percy Fontenot, and a sister Rena Brunet.

Visitation will be Tuesday April 11, 2017 at Ardoin Funeral Home in Mamou beginning at 9 AM until mass time. Rosary services will be conducted by Deacon David Guillory at 11 am. A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted Tuesday, April 11, 2017 with Father Thainese officiating at Saint Ann's Catholic Church at 2:30 PM. Joyce will be laid to rest in the new Saint Ann's Cemetery.
