Joseph Gary Brignac, 62, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, Gary was born on August 12, 1960, in Mamou, LA to Joseph Berthwood and Marilyn O’Connor Brignac. He Loved his family unconditionally, his family was his prize possession.  A lifelong resident of Mamou, he was a proud graduate of UL and co-owner of Assured Home Medical. He was a parishioner of St. Ann’s Catholic Church and recently attended the ACTS retreat. He enjoyed his customers, and he loved serving the public. His smile was contagious, and he was friendly, outgoing, and loved to have a good time.  Gary could spend hours talking French to people in the community.  Like most in the Mamou area he had a great love for Mardi Gras. He was a long-time captain of the Mamou Mardi Gras and a member of the Mamou Mardi Gras Association.  Gary enjoyed spending time outdoors planting trees, raising vegetables, and tending to his cattle. He loved training and racing horses with his Dad and brother and was an active member of The Louisiana Quarter Horse Association. Gary will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his son, Joseph Julian Brignac; grandson, Joseph Ross Brignac; mother, Marilyn Brignac; brother, Joseph Craig Brignac and wife, Connie; his companion Angela Savoy, niece, Katelyn Brignac Berzas and husband, Ryan, nephew Joseph Cade Brignac; great nieces and nephews, Auston, Ryleigh, Emmett, and Nolan.

He is preceded in death by his son, Joseph Connor Brignac; father, Joseph Berthwood Brignac; maternal grandparents, Nelson and Adie O’Connor; and paternal grandparents, Joseph Lee and Marie Brignac.
