MAMOU It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Johnnie M. Buxton, 49, announces his passing on Sunday, June 30, 2013. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 2:00 pm at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou. Rite of Committal will follow in the Reeds Cemetery with Father Mark Melancon officiating. A loving son, father, grandfather and friend, he leaves behind to cherish his memory his parents, Jack and Nelita Cormier of Lanse Meg one son Ryan Luke Buxton of New York City, New York one daughter, Robyn Noel Buxton of Eunice his fianc, Karen Lee Crawford of Mamou two brothers, Nick Bondick of Mamou and Tommy Buxton of Krotz Springs one granddaughter, Alyssa Ann Brown he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his father Merlie Buxton, Jr, his paternal grandparents, Merlie Sr. and Bessie Buxton and his maternal grandparents, Paul Balfa and Gertie V. Boone. The family requested that visiting hours be observed on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 from 8:00 am until time of services.
