MAMOU – Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, for Jerry Nathan Orr, 69, who passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021.
Burial will take place in New St. Ann’s Cemetery.
Jerry Nathan Orr was born on March 17, 1952, in Oakdale, LA to Jessie Nathan Orr and Verlice Soleau Orr. He proudly served his country in the United States Army He worked for Immigration and Naturalization Service and Immigration and Customs Enforcement from 1985-2007. He was great and loving man, and he loved his grandchildren with all his heart. He rarely met a stranger and was loved by everyone. He touched the lives of many. His family and friends will miss him dearly.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Gloria Gale Orr; his son, Jeffery Orr and wife, Melissa of Edmond, OK; stepson, Anthony Lavergne and wife, Amber of Mamou; stepdaughter, Rhonda Benoit and husband, Armand “Jo Jo” of Mamou; twelve grandchildren, AJ Benoit, Kermit Benoit, Dillon Benoit, Lacie Rachal, Ali Lavergne, Hunter Lavergne, Jared Lavergne, Kimberly Lavergne, Isabella Lavergne, William Orr, Katherine Orr and Ariel Williamson; and four great-grandchildren, Blakely Guillory, Alana Benoit, Avery Benoit and Lincoln Rachal.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Nathan Orr and Verlice Soileau Orr; and stepdaughter, Lisa Boutte.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou from 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Gary Gaudin at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, from 8:00 AM until time of service.
