MAMOUIt is with great sadness that the family of Jerry Marcantel announces his passing on Sunday, June 20, 2010 at Evangeline Extended Care Hospital in Mamou. He was 83. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou. Entombment will follow in the New St. Anns Mausoleum with Father Jude Thierry Celebrant.

Jerry was a wonderful and loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many and will be sorely missed by all. He will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife, Emma Guillory Marcantel of Mamou his three daughters, Faelyn McCauley of Mamou Peggy Acaldo and husband, Chris of Flowery Branch, GA and Jennifer Guidry and husband, Steve of Magnoola, TX his sister, Geraldine Fontenot of Eunice his nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Mamou on Monday, June 21st from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Tuesday, June 22nd from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm Monday evening.
