Jeffery "Puppy" Douget, born on Monday, July 26, 1965, in Mamou, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026, in Ville Platte, Louisiana at the age of 60. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 20, 2026 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou. Burial will follow in the New St. Ann Cemetery with Father Arockia Doss Palthasar officiating services.
Jeffery was known to many by his affectionate nickname, "Puppy," a testament to his warm, approachable nature and the lasting friendships he formed throughout his life. Jeffery was a hard and dedicated worker having worked as a Production Operator for Island Operating Co.
He was very outgoing and lived life to its fullest. Although he greatly enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and fishing, Jeffery enjoyed spending time with his family the most. Jeffery’s loving and joyful presence was felt by all who knew him, whether through shared stories, laughter, or quiet moments spent together. Through all of life's joys and challenges, he carried himself with dignity and strength.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his two sons, Jarred Douget (Katelyn) and Travis Douget (Hannah); three grandchildren, Shyanne, Bryar, and Kamptin Douget; and siblings, Geneva Guillory (Robert), Frederick James Douget, Sr. (Vicky), Gary "Dog" Douget, and Ronald "Mutt" Douget (Ann).
Jeffery is preceded in death by his wife, Amanda Douget; parents, Evans Paul Douget, Sr. and Pearl Marcantel Douget; brothers, Evans Paul Douget, Jr., Phillip Carl Douget, David Michael Douget, and sister, Marlene Faye Landreneau Douget.
Family and friends are invited to remember Jeffery “Puppy” Douget and gather to celebrate his life at Ardoin's Funeral Home, 717 6th St, Mamou, LA 70554. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary, led by Deacon Chuck Ortego, will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday. Visitation will continue on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
As the community gathers to honor his memory, the legacy of Jeffery "Puppy" Douget will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May his kindness and spirit be remembered always.
