Janice Patin Deculus, a loving woman devoted to her family, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2026, in Mamou, Louisiana at the age of 75. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 28, 2026 at 2:00 PM at St. Ann Catholic Church in Mamou. Burial will follow in the New St. Ann Cemetery with Father Arockia Doss Palthasar officiating services.

Janice was born on Saturday, August 25, 1951, in New Roads, Louisiana and will be remembered for the warmth she brought to everyday life and for the care she shared with those around her. She found joy in cooking and baking,which reflects her success as a Food Preparation Manager for the Evangeline Parish School Board. Janice also loved growing roses and sharing their beauty with those close to her. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she cherished going to church, being a member of the St. Ann Ladies' Altar Society and spending time in adoration.

Janice leaves behind a memory of kindness and devotion that will be treasured by all who knew and loved her including her son, Scott Aaron Deculus (Valerie) and daughter, Kelly Deculus Darbonne. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her five grandchildren, Chelsea Jacobs (Patrick), Jared Darbonne (Deshante), Jadon Darbonne, Jacob Darbonne, and Jordan Darbonne; four great grandchildren, Amiri and Kaylem Darbonne and Declan and Emery Jacobs; brothers, David Patin (Ellen) and Emery Patin (Sue Ann); and sister, Cynthia Deculus (Frankie).

Janice now rests with her husband of 54 years, Howard Deculus; parents, Joseph H. and Iris Patin; granddaughter, Erin Deculus; and son-in-law, Kelly Darbonne.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28, 2026, from 9:00 AM until 1:30 PM at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Mamou. A Rosary, led by the Ladies’ Altar Society, will be recited at 1:30 PM.
