James David McGee was born in Mamou, LA on June 21, 1961 to Daniel Joseph McGee and Juanita Ann Fontenot McGee. James David McGee died unexpectedly at his home in Pensacola. He was born and raised in Mamou, LA. In 1986, James and his wife, Annette Fuselier McGee, made their home in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1997, they brought Hannah Jane McGee into this world. From day one James and Annette were completely in love with and dedicated to their daughter.
In addition to love for his family, James loved music, cooking, animals, cars and electronic gadgets. He loved listening to music, but he also taught himself to play several instruments including the harmonica as his grandfather, Isom Fontenot, did.
Last year, James moved to Pensacola, Florida to get a fresh start and still be within driving distance to Hannah and his family and friends in Louisiana. Despite almost a decade on dialysis, he was enjoying making his new house a home. Last year he also met and fell in love with Brenda Ardoin from Eunice, Louisiana. On Christmas, he proposed, and she agreed to be his wife. He was very happy as they were planning their wedding and future.
He is survived by his daughter, Hannah Jane McGee of Athens, Georgia; his sister, Monica Menier and her husband Kirk of Baton Rouge; his stepbrother, Don Gladfelter of Ville Platte; his fiancée, Brenda Ardoin of Eunice; and many nieces and nephews.
James is preceded in death by his wife, Annette Fuselier McGee; mother, Juanita Ann Fontenot McGee; father, Daniel Joseph McGee; stepmother, Barbara McGee; nephew, Ryan Scott Menier; and stepsisters, Stacy Lafleur and Kim Sonnier.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the National Kidney Foundation.
