MAMOUA wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, greatgreat grandmother and friend, Hazel Veillon will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Hazel died peacefully on Friday, January 15, 2010 at the Savoy Care Center. She was 86. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, January 18, 2010 at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou. Burial will follow in the Reed Cemetery in Lanse Meg with Father Sibley Celebrant.
She leaves behind a loving and grateful family, including her loving daughter, Betty Saucier, and husband, Don of Lanse Meg a daughter in law, Cynthia Veillon of Mamou one brother, Edgar Bourgeois of Opelousas one sister, Gladys Lantz of Scott seven grandchildren twelve great grandchildren and seven greatgreat grandchildren.
Now she rests in heaven with her beloved husband, Ardus Veillon a son, Floyd Veillon and one granddaughter, Angela Veillon.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Mamou on Sunday, January 17, 2010 from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Monday, January 18, 2010 from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm Sunday evening. The family would like to extend their special thanks to the Savoy Care Center, Hospice of Mamou, and to Dr. Brent Ardoin.
