MAMOU – Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou on Thursday, September 2, 2021, for Gloria Gail Orr, 76, who passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021.
Reverend Caleb Semien will be conducting services.
Burial will take place in New St. Ann’s Cemetery.
Gloria Gail Orr was born on November 11, 1944, in Mamou, LA to Baniel and Priscilla Landreneau Menier. She was a seamstress and loved sewing. She was great and loving woman, and she loved her grandchildren with all her heart. She rarely met a stranger and was loved by everyone. She touched the lives of many. Her family and friends will miss her dearly.
She is survived by her sons, Jeffery Orr and wife, Melissa of Edmond, OK and Anthony Lavergne and wife, Amber of Mamou; daughter, Rhonda Benoit and husband, Armand “Jo Jo” of Mamou; twelve grandchildren, AJ Benoit, Kermit Benoit, Dillon Benoit, Lacie Rachal, Ali Lavergne, Hunter Lavergne, Jared Lavergne, Kimberly Lavergne, Isabella Lavergne, William Orr, Katherine Orr and Ariel Williamson; and four great-grandchildren, Blakely Guillory, Alana Benoit, Avery Benoit and Lincoln Rachal.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Nathan Orr; parents, Baniel and Priscilla Landreneau Menier; and daughter, Lisa Boutte.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou from 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Gary Gaudin at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Thursday, September 2, 2021, from 8:00 AM until time of service.
