MAMOU - It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of, Georgiana Manuel Reed the former Georgiana Granger, 81, announces her passing on Monday, July 20, 2015 at 11:40 P.M. at her residence in Mamou. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Mamou. Rite of Committal will follow in the Ardoin Cemetery with Fr.Thainese officiating.
Georgiana graduated from Mamou High School in 1951.Was a Tupperware Manager for several years and was Nationally recognized for her Tupperware achievements; She owned and operated several restaurants
She will be greatly missed by her six children, Cynthia Ahart, of Opelousas, Tim Manuel and wife, Penny of Beaver Creek, Mona Daigle of Mamou, FeFe Cabe and husband James Savells of Maumelle, Arkansas, Barry Manuel of Opelousas, and Ferral Manuel and wife, Jeanne of Broussard; five step-children, Michael Reed, Patrick Reed and wife, Kathy, Mitchell Reed, Nicholas Reed and wife, Neili and Jennifer Jackson and husband, David all of Mamou; five sisters, Ethel Cordes and husband, Earl of Oregan, Ella Lintzen of Sulphur, Becky Mccauley and husband, Ervin of Ville Platte, Gerri Brunet of Mamou and Jenny Duplechin and husband, Luther of Lafayette; twenty-three grandchildren and thirty-eight great-grandchildren.
Georgiana will now reunite in Heaven with her parents, Evy L. and Naise Granger, her husband, Harold J. Manuel father of her children and her second husband, J.Roy Reed, one daughter, Pamela Lynn Manuel and one sister Mae Aguillard and one brother Robley Granger one step-son, Kenneth Reed. They surely await her arrival with open arms.
At the request of the Manuel- Reed family visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Mamou on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 from 10:00 A.M. until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday evening.
